365 Cards: Congrats to You Two

Of all the kinds of cards I make, I think the wedding cards are my favorite! :)

Since I have no weddings to attend on the horizon, I wanted to pick some more neutral wedding colors... light tiffany-style blue, neutrals and pink hearts? It will work for any wedding! :)

And yes, I did go a little crazy with the white embossing.... but I think it worked out well!

365 Cards: You're My Anchor

When I first saw this stamp set in the Occasions Catalog, I thought it would go perfectly with this Designer Series Paper... it just took me a few months to finally take it out of my brain and commit it to paper!

I love the patterned papers... but I don't use them enough. In fact I was recently having a conversation about this with Maria and forced myself to pull some out to use it! I need to do that more often... it really steps your card up without a lot of work!

While I will miss this paper, I can't wait to get my hands on some of the new paper coming in the new catalog in June!

365 Cards: The Adventure Begins

I must admit I loved this stamp set, had to have it, then it stumped me. I'm not used to using large text stamps!

Once I forced myself to start using it, I fell in love with it all over again! I thought this sentiment was perfect for a graduation card. :)

A cute little punched art owl and rolled up strip of whisper white paper for his diploma was the perfect accomplice to this particular stamp!

Another cute grad card to add to my stash. Now go on over to check out all the other awesome cards this week from the What Will You Stamp? design team!!

365 Cards: You Are Amazingly Amazing

Happy Monday! Today's card was a bit of an experiment in color for me! I wanted to do something outside of my normal color comfort zone...

I'm glad that I experimented! The color combo was inspired by this palette. And I used this sketch. Sketches are my go-to when I'm short on time or stuck with what I want to do!

I actually think this is my favorite card I've made in recent weeks! Now go on over to check out all the other awesome cards this week from the What Will You Stamp? design team!!

365 Cards: You did it!

Welcome to another JAX Starz Blog Hop! This month we decided to challenge each other to make something for dads or for grads to inspire you!

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Rose Ann Marr's blog.  You can follow the full blog hop lineup below to move along from blog to blog, so you can see all of the new projects.

For this month's theme I knew I wanted to make a grad card and I knew I wanted to try to make a shaker card.... here's what I ended up with!

Lots of my favorites on here... that patterned paper, the octopus, sequins, word bubbles, googlie eyes! I thought it would be lots of fun for any grad to receive! :)

I finished the card off with a sentiment inside... you can never say congrats to a grad enough, right?!

Some Stampin' Tips:
  • Don't be Afraid to Use White. I am notorious for using colored cardstock for my card bases... I'm trying to force myself to use white and in the process I'm finding that I love it! Sometimes simple is better :)
  • Confetti for Shaker Frames. Did you know that Stampin' Up! currently offers two different confetti punches?! Yep... one for hearts and one for stars! They make it really quick and easy to make shaker cards. And they make awesome borders too.
  • Designer Series Paper = Simple, Quick & Easy. I recently got into a conversation with one of my downline about how I hoard love our Designer Series Paper so much I barely ever use it. Bad Amanda. LOL :) So I pulled some out and made myself use it... totally elevates would otherwise be a very simple card! Pull out your patterned paper to make simple, quick cards that are sure to impress your recipients! :)
Alright, that's all I have today's hop..... the next stop is Amy Unick on this month's Jax Starz Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and I'll see you next time!
