365 Cards: Congratulations on Your Little Addition

Welcome to another JAX Starz Blog Hop! This month we decided to use a fun sketch!
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Rose Ann Marr's blog.  You can follow the full blog hop lineup below to move along from blog to blog, so you can see all of the new projects.

I had a request from someone to make a baby card recently, so this is what I made! :)

I added a little sentiment on the inside to finish it up!

And here is the sketch we all used this month!

Some Stampin' Tips:
  • Layer color on color by using texture. On this particular card, I defaulted to one of my favorite techniques-- cutting my card base, then cutting from the same piece of cardstock a piece that is 1/4" smaller and then dry embossing that piece with my Big Shot.
  • Use up scraps. I had the Daffodil Delight Designer Series Paper out for another project so I used up some scraps on this card! Cards are a great way to use up those little bits of your patterned paper!
  • Using sketches. I love sketches when I'm stuck for what to make. This stamp set always stumps me (even though I love it!) so this sketch was a perfect way to make me use the set. I just pulled the stamps out and arranged them on my card pieces I had cut until I found an arrangement I liked. Sometimes it works well to look at a sketch and see what stamps you might have that will fit that sketch!
Alright, that's all I have today's hop..... the next stop is Beka Laing on this month's Jax Starz Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and I'll see you next time!

  5. Love it, just like every other one of your cards. I will have to put in an order for like a dozen of those ;) even though I may have the onesie stamp. Who cares.
