365 Cards: Just Keep Swimming... Salted Watercolor Video Tutorial

Here is the last of the three cards for June.... my favorite set to date!  Today I have a video tutorial for you on how to do a fun watercolor technique....  using an Aqua Painter, ink, and some salt!  It creates a fun pooling effect of the ink. :)

I think this octopus is my favorite guy in the stamp set... yep, even more so than the lobster! Go figure :)  I really had fun with this month's cards making up my own sentiments... I think I will be doing more of that in the future!

I'm still working on improving my video skills - both the filming and the editing! Hope you enjoy this month's simple & fun technique :)

Watercoloring techniques are all the rage right now in card making and paper crafting... have you tried it yet?  I am loving it! :)

So there is this month's Stamp of the Month Club cards... now go sign up for my mailing list to get the emails on the first of the month and get a sneak peek at the cards for that month!

365 Cards: Sorry I Was So Crabby

I love doing these three card sets for the Stamp of the Month Club... it is fun to challenge myself to make three cards using the same stamp set, keep them simple, and feature one stamp set.  This month was particularly fun to make... I think I most enjoyed making my own sentiments and using these awesome sea creatures! :)

This was my first time using the Burlap Ribbon and I'm obsessed with it now!  It cuts easily, holds shape well and you get 5 yards on the roll - what a steal! It was also my first chance to use the new Polka Dot Embossing Folder... so much fun!  I love that Stampin' Up! regularly adds new embossing folders to their product lines.  Perfect for an embossing addict like me! lol ;)

And I have to say, I am loving this new Alphabet Rotary Stamp! It's so much fun to use!  My only tip for it so far is to practice stamp your words on a piece of scrap paper or a post-it to make sure you are getting a clean impression of each letter.  If it's just a little off, you might have a little bit of the letter disappear! :)

What do you think of this crabby little guy... isn't he cute?! :)

365 Cards: You're My Lobster

I think this is my favorite Stamp of the Month set of cards I've done yet! :)

This month, I chose the Sea Street stamp set to feature.  It is my favorite in the new 2014-15 Annual Catalog, so I'm hoping to make it your new favorite too!!  Of course, it helps that there is a lobster in the set... we all know how much I love the lobsters around here!! LOL ;)

I stole the color combo from a now retired set of Designer Series Paper and it's a new favorite combo -- every set of Designer Series Paper tells you the colors used and it's a great place to go for inspiring color combos if you get stuck!  The sentiment?  It's a throwback to one of my favorite television shows Friends... I totally miss that show (and I love Phoebe)! :)  Anyway, I thought it would be a fun sentiment to use on this card and it was easy to create with our new Alphabet Rotary Stamp.
