Starbucks Hidden Menu Item: Blackberry Cobbler Frappucino

My brother now shares my addiction for random drinks that aren't on the menu and notified me that I needed to try this drink ASAP.  :)

I'm so glad that I did -- super tasty!  Because the freeze-dried blackberries are included, they give the drink a little bit of a crunch.  Almost like you are getting bits of berry cobbler when you drink it! :)

To order, pick your size, ask them to add white mocha syrup and 1 scoop of freeze-dried blackberries (2 if you are ordering a venti).

Thanks for the recommendation Tom! :)

Who is ready for a drink?! :)

365 Cards: Mom You're 1 in a Million

Time for another Stamp of the Month! The April Stamp of the Month is the Backyard Basics set and it has lots of great images for use with whatever sentiment stamps you have in your stash. :)

The first of three cards you'll receive in your kit is this one!

I used a Blender Pen to color the tulips and an Aqua Painter to color the sky :)

For the sentiment stamp to accompany these tulips, I used the My Mother stamp set from the Occasions Catalog and added the "Mom" stamp from the Family Reunion stamp set:

A Layer Cake Baby Quilt for Adelaide

It's been a few months since I've shown what's been on my sewing machine!  I currently have a backlog of baby blankets on my desk and three big quilts in various stages of completeness..... but I can call this one done! :)

I made this quilt for a sweet little lady who is due to be here any day!  Adelaide's nursery is decked out in super cute butterflies and owls... so when I was picking fabric, this fabric just jumped out at me.  It's bright and happy.  As my crafty partner in crime Andrea said "you can't not be happy looking at this quilt!" -- I must agree! But I am partial :)

For the pattern, I used this easy to follow tutorial -- HIGHLY recommend if you are looking for a quick, cute baby quilt pattern!  I literally had the quilt top cut and pieced in less than an hour! I wanted to do something more than just straight stitching on this quilt so I used some of the fun decorative stitches on my machine (I was inspired by this quilt to do this!).

I also have another first in this quilt -- I hand stitched in a little note for baby Adelaide along the seam :)

It was surprisingly hard for me to see this one leave the sewing table.  I fell in love with it!  I know that it's in the best hands and that Adelaide will get lots of use out of it (I'm sure!)

And I'm back to my list of six quilts on the table to finish up!  Though I'm tempted to get more of this fabric and make myself a quilt from it!! ;)

What do you think of this quilt?! :)

So this card is a sample I made using instruction found in the Stampin' Success magazine for demonstrators that I get every other month!

I almost never use Whisper White as my card base, but I really love it on this card!

The magazine is packed with awesome ideas, tutorials and all kinds of other good stuff... and it's one of the many perks of joining Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator!  Find out more about being a demonstrator on my new page. :)

365 Cards: "Bee" Mine

I've been wanting to play with this hexagon hive thinlit die for weeks!  Finally got the chance last weekend :)

This was a fairly simple card to assemble, it just has a lot of detail.... makes it look more complicated than it really is! :)

It's hard to see in the photos, but there is Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details filling the heart wings on the bee -- it's glittery in real life!

365 Cards: Always Thinking of You

Both of these stamps sets were not an immediately "must have" for me when they first appeared in the current catalog.  But after seeing so many beautiful cards made with both sets, I finally broke down and added them to my stash and I'm so glad that I did!

The best part of this background stamp is that there is a matching embossing folder!  Makes it easy to make a simple, stunning card that is finished without a lot of effort.

I used markers to stamp the image and finished it off with a sentiment from a hostess set that retires soon and a few small embellishments.

What do you think?

So I go in bursts with these kinds of cards.... No reason in particular, just pulled out this stamp set and this was the image I really wanted to use!  :)

I wanted to keep it simple for this one.... and I was happy to discover that the heart from the owl punch matched the heart in hanger perfectly!! :)

I'm sure my husband will like the girly colors on this one! ;) LOL

I recently got the Just Sayin' stamp set and Word Bubble Framelits.... actually it barely sat on my desk for a day before I made this card! :)

Another card for my stash of cards for the husband... :)

The spots on the body of the owl are just from me dotting the cardstock with my marker! :)

Project Life 2013: Week Eight.

This was one of those quiet-everything-is-normal weeks but super-crazy-fun-packed weekend kind of weeks!

You can click on the pics to enlarge them for a somewhat clearer image.

Week of: February 18-24, 2013.

What happened this week?  On Friday night after work, I drove down to visit my bestie Anne for the weekend to celebrate my birthday.  We were also lucky to get the chance to meet up with Evelyn and her friend Gary for brunch while we were in LA!  It was a great weekend... you can read all about it here! :)

Anything special about the spread?  While I kept the left really simple -- lots of photos! -- the right hand side has an extra panel to add room to fully share photos and info about my weekend trip with Anne and meeting up with Evelyn! :)

Techniques this week:  I used a 6x9" pocket and cropped/printed my palm tree photo to one side and used the backside to add the text from my blog post and photo of the beach.  Then the right side is carefully chosen photos to summarize the weekend -- not every photo, but a fair number of my favorites! :)

Overall thoughts:  Love, love, love this project.  It is so awesome to be able to capture little and big moments from the same week into one layout.  Totally worth the effort!

Ink: Basic Black
Big Shot:  Bitty Banner Framelits
Punches:  Owl (heart)

365 Cards: Oh, Hello Butterfly

So I love getting my paper pumpkin kits... and the one from the month of March was no exception!

The fun arrows I stamped under the butterfly were one of the two images in March's kit! :)

This is definitely a bright, happy card that (I think) anyone would love to receive!

What do you think? :)

Project Life 2013: Week Seven.

This week was Valentine's Day!   We enjoyed getting to spend some quality time together this weekend :)

You can click on the pics to enlarge them for a somewhat clearer image.

Week of: February 11-17, 2013.

What happened this week?  We celebrated Valentine's Day with an early breakfast over in Pacific Grove, a (cold) walk along the ocean trail and some shopping for "toys" (tools for Brian, new camera for me!).

Anything special about the spread or techniques this week?  I'm finding I like it better to include the journaling and titles right onto the photograph and skip filler cards altogether.... and already wondering how this album will evolve as I continue onward!

Overall thoughts:  I'm definitely finding that I stick to a color theme for the week and let the photos be the main focal point.... I think it's working so far! :)
