365 Cards: Congratulations!

Trying to build my stash of congratulations cards back up, so back with another one today! :)

Brian gave some input on this one and thought it would be cool if I could have added fireworks to the background... he's right!  Only problem? In all my stamp sets, I don't have any fireworks!! :)

Love how fun and easy it was to stamp this one!  Definitely a happy card to celebrate any occasion with! This stamp set has me thinking of what else can I use it for?  It's definitely a string of lanterns... could it be anything else?

Any creative suggestions for this one? :)

365 Cards: You Did It!

I'm starting to make some graduation themed cards... but this would work great for any congratulatory card, wouldn't it?! :)

Stamped the cute little guy using markers, then colored him in with a blender pen.

More white space than I usually leave on a card, but I really love how it turned out!

Do you think this would be a good graduation card? :)

365 Cards: Oh Snap! I Remembered and Forgot...

When I first saw the "Oh Snap!" sentiment in the Occasions Catalog, I immediately thought of my favorite little guy... the lobster! :)

I stamped the lobster with Real Red onto Calypso Coral, then cut him out.

Thought the "Oh Snap!" would go well with this belated birthday sentiment :)

I'm not the best at remembering birthdays or sending cards on time.... so I probably need to make myself a stash of these!

Still obsessed with the lobster.... :)

365 Cards: A Vintage Dress for a Birthday!

Okay, one more dress card for you today!

This one is based on a card kit that Stampin' Up! was selling for a while. Sometimes it's fun to copy a card from Stampin' Up!'s catalog (in this case kits) to learn something new.... It definitely made me think creatively!

Soft colors, feminine and really pretty in person!  I really loved stamping on patterned paper.

What do you think of the stamping on newsprint patterned paper?

365 Cards: A Snow White Happy Birthday

So when I saw this card on Pinterest, I was so inspired to dust off this set of stamps and dies in my collection and put it to use immediately!

I loved the dark brown woodgrain embossed background.... the red ribbon.... the leafy green leaves.  I used those and made a ton of revisions until I had my own version of Snow White for my card!

The yellow dress is dry embossed with the Big Shot, then I covered the entire bottom of the dress with Versamark, then a layer of Heat & Stick powder, followed by a final layer of Dazzling Diamonds glitter!  And that little white layer?  I used a little scrap of Crepe Filter Paper I had sitting on my desk -- several layers and I only cut about the bottom 1/2" of the die into my scrap -- love the little detail it adds!

Watch out -- once I started using this die, I made five different dress cards!  Be back tomorrow with the next one!

What do you think?! :)

365 Cards: Thank You

Today, I wanted to share an idea for using the awesome stamps that came in the February Paper Pumpkin Kit:

The stamps were large circles that stamped either this striped pattern or a polka dot pattern!  I grabbed some cardstock to match one of the included ink colors and quickly assembled this thank you card!

It would work with any color and almost any sentiment stamp you have in your stash!  I love how versatile and easy to re-use the paper pumpkin stamps have been so far! :)

What do you think?

365 Cards: Congratulations for a Bridal Shower

So there is a wedding coming up for the not-so-little girl I used to baby sit when I was in high school!  She recently had her bridal shower and I couldn't make it... so I sent this card to her with her gift:

Her wedding is in June on a ranch... rustic, with the colors purple and orange.  So I wanted to make a card that reflected that. I even added some of the retired Waffle Paper to the bottom of the dress to give the dress a little something extra!

When I was figuring out the present for the bridal shower, my friend Tori and I were discussing our "go-to" gifts for bridal showers and weddings.  It's been quite a long time since I've bought gifts for one and it was an interesting conversation too!   Tori's go-to wedding gift is a crystal vase for flowers... she didn't necessarily have a gift for bridal showers.

What do you usually give as a bridal shower gift?

365 Cards: (A Very Pink!) Happy Easter

This card was so quick to put together!  I just wish it had been has easy to photograph it! :)

I thought it would be fun to let the front of the card be simple and the sentiment be inside the card.

Another quick, simple card and it reminded me how fun it is to force myself to only use one color + neutrals! :)

365 Cards: So Lucky to Have You

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! :)

I pieced together my custom sentiment using the letters and words available on the So Happy for You set.  I did it by coloring the letters I wanted to use and stamping them one at a time, cleaning the stamps in-between use.  It's a great way to create a custom sentiment if you don't want to break out the computer and printer!

365 Cards: Just Because

There have been a LOT of great watercolor cards floating around lately.... of course, they took hold in my brain and I had to give it a try!

And I am so glad that I did!  So much fun!  Quick and easy, but you have to be ready to allow it to dry overnight and use a LOT of adhesive to get it to lay flat on your card base! ;)

It is also the PERFECT use for the Stampin' Up! Aqua Painter -- talk about easy!  Just dip your Aqua Painter in the color you want and off you go -- the perfect amount of water, no messy brushes to clean up, and (most important to me) no cup of water to spill all over my desk! If you don't have one, you might want to get one!

Have you played with watercolors in your paper crafting?
