Our first major trip was to Orlando in August of 2002. It was around the time I was graduating from college and I had decided to move in with Brian, so he surprised me by planning a vacation for us in Florida. I was so excited. :)
We plane hopped on Southwest.... literally like five or six connections in-between San Jose and Orlando. We stayed at the Celebration World Resort, which is the timeshare Brian had bought. It's a spacious 3 bed, 2 bath condo with a full kitchen, laundry and screened porch. And I could LIVE in that bathroom. Seriously. I want to bring it home with me next time!
These cow statutes with murals painted on them were all over the resort grounds. This one was my favorite!
What did we do in Orlando? Why of course we....
Went to Epcot:
Photo booth somewhere in the front half of the park :)
To MGM Studios:
Lunch at the Brown Derby!
Not a trip to amusement parks without posing with the statues I suppose... :)
To Animal Kingdom:
Brian with a "stuffed" Nala (the namesake of our kitty!)
To Universal Studios Islands of Adventure:
Where we had dinner at Emeril's:
We took in Gatorland:
And hit Typhoon Lagoon:
Of course, Downtown Disney:
And finished our trip with the Magic Kingdom:
Typical Brian.... :) We had lunch at Tony's Restaurant (for the Italian restaurant in Lady & the Tramp!)
I seriously wanted to sleep for two or three days straight afterwards. It was exhausting!! But we had a great time and couldn't wait to travel again the next year. Looking back at these pictures I remember pre-digital madness. I had a film point and shoot film camera! I laugh thinking about the ziploc bag of film I packed in my purse that we were worried about having damaged going through the scanners at the airport!
So where did we go next year? Maui. I'll be back soon to share photos.... and for that trip I had my new film Nikon. Still pre-digital, but a total step up from the point and shoot! :)
Where did you take your first big vacation?
